Speak of the Dead

She has the sixth sense! He's a New York City homicide detective! This case is about to be the death of them!
Felicia McClellan can speak to the dead. As an "open channel," she can help grieving survivors by speaking to their departed loved ones, exorcise haunted houses, assist anguished spirits by doing unfinished business for them on the earth plan, and thrill the millions who read her non-fiction books. Things are going well for Felicia until her agent and best friend, Natalie, is found dead, and according to Natalie's spirit, it was no accident - it was murder! Now it's up to Felicia to convince NYPD homicide detective, Mike Harris, not to close the case. And that won't be easy since there's no physical evidence to support Felicia's homicide theory, and Natalie has stopped giving her clues from beyond the grave.
Cynical Lt. Harris doesn't believe in Felicia's psychic abilities, doesn't believe the agent was murdered, but does believe Felicia is the only person who stood to gain anything from her friend's demise. If that weren't enough to torment the spiritualist, a vengeful psychotic killer from Mike's past is speaking to her from the "other side," and his message is coming through loud and clear - kill Mike Harris!
Romantic Times Book Club reviewer Donna M. Brown said (January 2005): The excitement never wanes in this not-so-classic tale of a hero saving his damsel in distress. Here, they are fighting otherworldly vampires while the heroine calls on the undead for support. Interesting plot twists raise this book above the level of your average murder mystery, especially with the intrusion of the spirit world. This is one to keep. Twists and otherworldly creatures liven up what looks to be a simple suicide. FOUR & A HALF STARS!

"Speak of the Dead" was nominated in the Small Press Contemporary Paranormal Romance category at the 2008 RTBC Convention!

- Great book! I decided to read SPEAK OF THE DEAD while doing my work-out on my treadmill. 40 minutes later I realized that I had gone way over time on my walk, so I might as well just stop the work-out and read the book. I could not put this book down! I burned a lot of calories and finished a wonderful book. I never realized fully what it must feel like to have the sixth sense until I read Hollie's character Felicia McClellan. This is a wonderful gift to have but I can see it has its downside. If you have ever wondered what it feels like to "speak to the dead" you need to read this book.
- Unlike anything else, First of all let me tell you that I have met the author. She IS a psychic/ medium. She did a reading on me (ever the cynic) at her booksigning. I bought the book!!!!! I have never read anything like this in my life. It is way more fun to read than non-fiction on this subject of the "sixth sense". Lt. Mike Harris is a real bad...! The book is the best. I'm not much into time travel, but I am going to read the other books she has written because her writing is so "out of the box" and free. You should meet here if you can because she "is" Felicia McClellan (the character in Speak of the Dead).
